Get 180-day of ESet NOD32 service for free, a $20 value.

PPLive is a peer-to-peer streaming video network application, it currently runs a promotion with ESet, and you can get a free NOD32 id when you download and install the PPLive program.

Here is how:

1. Download the latest version of PPLive, you need the latest version from the Chinese site(English site has an older version which doesn’t work).

The version is 1.8.18 as of today.

2. Install it as any normal applications, launch it and click “Help”->“Obtain free NOD32″

3. Click the red link as shown in the screenshot below. The text might not show properly in some systems, but the link is in red and you wouldn’t miss it. :-)

You should get a unique activation code specified for your computer.

4. Download the NOD32, you need a special build of NOD32 for this promotion, the normal ones wouldn’t work(but you can use the ID/Password later).

5. Install the NOD32(in Chinese), the (N) stands for Next, when asked, input the activation code you got in step 3.

6. After installation, start it and get the username, the password is masked as asteriated.

7. Use a password viewer to get the hidden password. Any would do, I prefer this Password Viewer as its small, free and no installation required. Just run the program and drag it over the password field. The password is revealed.

8. Now, you can uninstall the Chinese version NOD32 and head to the official ESet page, download the original NOD32(website, direct link), when prompted, use the Username/Password you get in previous steps. Also, use these account info. later to setup updating.
