Apple HowTo
HowTo: Create iTunes Store Account without Credit Card/Paypal
And of course, it’s absolutely free and can be totally anonymous
The iTunes Store allows you to buy songs, albums, videos, audiobooks, movies, TV Shows, etc. For me, the best thing is, over 65,000 podcast to twiddle around and, grab those nice album covers for my music collection.
All looks great but before all these bells and whistles, you’ll need to create an iTunes Store account, with a credit card/paypal account or gift card. The account itself is free as long as you don’t make any purchase(and can still enjoy those freebies).
So here is the way for those don’t have credit card/paypal or just want more privacy:
1. Get a free iTunes gift code
With gift code redemption, you can create the account without CC/PayPal but still, a genuine iTunes gift certification isn’t free. Here is a way to get a free(and expired) code, which do nothing other than aids us going through the registration process.
So head to here, the original page is down but the archive works.
Fill in your email address, tick the "I agree to the TOS" box then click "Generate my code!" button to get the code.

2. Redeem the code
Launch iTunes(please use the latest version, 7.5) and click "Redeem" as shown in the picture.

Input the code we get just now, and redeem. Yes, the code has expired as we’ve expected, and that’s fine. Click the home page icon after the code redemption and the warning message and back to the iTunes main page.
3. Get your free the iTunes store account
Now click the "Sign In" button on the top right, which will take you to the registration page.
The registration itself is quite standard, just create the account with your email address. The country is locked to US(don’t know why, maybe iTunes detects regional settings?) and you’ll need a valid US address/phone# to go through(tip: search "apple store" on Google Maps).
Nothing special on this page except this little radio button.
After that, check your email box, you should get the confirmation email from Apple. And, enjoy your iTunes adventure.

An alternative method, recommended by an Apple Store employee, is to enter your credit card details and then delete them. I have just done this and can confirm that it is possible to delete one’s credit card details after they have been entered.
