Today sp1 ships. hurray. It’s not up there yet but should be later today.
Looking down the list of fixes, here are some that caught my eye (read the whitepaper for the full list):
- Communicator won’t let you IM a distribution list any more for security reasons
- Icons for presence have been modified so that red/green colour blind people can tell the difference between available and busy by looking at the icon rather than the text next to it
- That Excel bug with 65,534 getting shown as 100,001 is fixed
- SharePoint works on Windows Server 2008
- ASP.net AJAX supported on SharePoint for web parts
- Outlook delays with opening large psts eliminated
Office Online Downloads (SP1 will be available here)

The new Microsoft Download Center is going to be fully functional with Silverlight.
Silverlight is the next generation of .NET based media experiences. More information on Silverlight can be found over at it’s homepage.
When initially loading the website, you will be promt to install Silverlight. You have to have Silverlight installed to view the new download center. Apparently BETA participants are being invited randomly from the Microsoft Connect website. The design is very sleek, and sexy I should add. Other than that, the current download links on the BETA website forward you back to the current Download Center.
Hope to hear some official word on this BETA soon, in the mean time check it out!

Despite the official release date of 10/26, the newest OS from Apple has been leaked on torrent site.
The leaked file is in DMG format and with a size 6.56GB, so you need a D9 disk to burn it. It can be installed in original Apple hardware directly, but with some modification, you may also try your luck on the PC(a.k.a hackintosh).
The version number is 5A581, which believes to be the GM(golden master), identical with the one ships two days later. Some users have managed to install the shining new Leopard and post screen shot.

Mozilla has released a new patch for Firefox, which will update the browser to version 2.0.0.8
The update, distributed since earlier today via the software’s auto-update feature, patches eight vulnerabilities. Two of them are rated as “critical” and could allow an attacker to run code or install software on a client PC.
The new version brings two new localized versions of Firefox, Georgian and Romanian. Probably most significantly, the browser is now compatible with Apple’s Leopard operating system. However, Mozilla noted that there are several known “issues” in this version. Among others, “some” media plug-ins as well as add-ons containing binary components are not working properly, the organization said.
