ps3_logo Trend Micro’s security software spans over a huge repertoire of operating systems and Internet browsers, and now it has become the first to bring similar Web safety tools to the PS3.

Trend Micro Web Security for PS3 launches today, and according to Trend Micro it is the first product of its kind for a gaming console.

Sony offers cut price PlayStation 3

ps3_logo A cut price PlayStation 3 (PS3) with a smaller hard drive and no backwards compatibility with previous consoles goes on sale later this month.

The £299 PS3 has a 40-gigabyte hard disk and will be released in Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. Sony has also slashed the price of the 60GB model, from £425 to £350 as it hopes to ignite sales.

fp__smashps3 Sony Wants Your Broken Walkmans, PlayStations and More, only if you’re done with it. Sony Electronics announced a new national recycling program for consumer electronics, called the Sony Take Back Recycling Program, which allows consumers to recycle all Sony-branded products for no fee at 75 Waste Management (WM) Recycle America eCycling drop-off centers throughout the U.S (PDF).

The program also allows consumers to recycle other manufacturers’ consumer electronics products at market prices, and may include a recycling fee for some types of materials.
